A blog so our girls know how their inheritance is being spent! A trip celebrating Robyne turning 50 this year & great to be sharing some of the journey with our good friends from the Naki, Wendy (also born 1961) and Les Marshall. The girls will be on the loose in Europe for the early part of June while the blokes go to The Isle of Man for the craziness of the TT racing. We are hoping you will check in now and then to see what we have been up too.....

Cycling in Dam Square!
UP and off hiring cycles this morning. Kitted out with bikes, map and bike lock we set off for Durgerdam, some kms away and were advised to catch the free ferry, behind the central train station. This entailed cycling down the busiest tourist street in Amsterdam Central District at 10am!?! Dodging, trams, pedestrians, cars, buses and other cyclists we managed to find the free ferry and catch a ride to Jpleinveer where we found great cycle lanes and very little traffic. Rode through Nieuwendammerdijk village and onto Durgerdam. Wonderful weather and the villages were exquisite. Came back over Zuiderzeeweg Bridge which was an interesting experience, pushing the cycles up the siding of the steep steps to the bridge and then had to stop on the middle of the bridge while it raised to let boats go through - great birds eye views!
Carried on and managed to get lost and end up in the industrial area - soon got back on the right path which led us right along the waterfront , back to central station and down through Damrak and Dam Square....nearly got cleaned up on the last corner, totally our fault. Delivered bikes and enjoyed a late lunch at nearby Rene's bakery.
